The open enrollment period closed last month, but Marylanders still will have a chance this tax season to sign up for health insurance for 2023.
In their first meeting as members of the Board of Public Works, Gov. Wes Moore (D) and Comptroller Brooke Lierman (D) said the panel will sharpen its focus on including more diverse businesses in state contracts.
The bond money will help pay for “site acquisition, planning, design and construction of sports and entertainment projects along the Blue Line corridor.
Lierman, a civil and disability rights attorney from Baltimore, was elected by a landslide in
November to be the chief tax collector, the first woman independently elected to any state office
in Maryland.
In an interview with the Baltimore Business Journal, the formal civil rights attorney said she has broad goals to modernize the office and the services it offers its citizens.
When state Del. Brooke Lierman was running for the job of Maryland comptroller, she visited every county and Baltimore City; the first thing she had to do was explain to voters what a comptroller does.
